Beef Chow Fun

Beef chow fun is a savory stir-fried noodle dish where tender marinated flank steak is quickly cooked with wide rice noodles, crisp bean sprouts, and aromatic ginger and green onions, all tossed in a rich blend of soy sauces, Shaoxing wine, and sesame oil for a smoky, umami-packed flavor.

Ingredients

  • Flank Steak 8 ounces
  • Baking Soda 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger 1 piece
  • Cornstarch 1 tsp
  • Shaoxing wine 2 tbsp
  • Green Onions 4 stalks
  • Wide Rice Noodles 12 ounces
  • Dark Soy Sauce 2 tsp
  • Vegetable Oil 1 tsp + 3 tsp
  • Bean Sprouts 5 ounces
  • Light Soy Sauce 1 tsp + 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 1/8 tsp
  • Sesame Oil 1/2 tsp

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl mix the flank steak, baking soda, cornstarch, vegetable oil, and soy sauce then marinate for 1 hour.
  2. Heat up vegetable oil in a large skillet then cook the marinated beef until it has browned and remove from the pan.
  3. Using the same pan add in ginger, green onions, wide rice noodles, Shaoxing wine, sesame oil, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, cooked beef, sugar, and bean sprouts. Mix well until everything is incorporated.
  4. Add salt and white pepper to taste.
  5. Serve and garnish with more green onions.
