Lo Mein

Lo mein is a popular stir-fried noodle dish featuring tender noodles tossed with vegetables, protein, and a savory soy-based sauce.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup cabbage (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1 cup chicken, shrimp, or tofu
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp oil

Directions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add protein and cook until done.
  5. Stir in vegetables and cook for 3–4 minutes.
  6. Add noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar.
  7. Toss everything together for 2–3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
